The Member of Technical Staff (MTS), Software Engineering is a versatile software engineer with a strong skills with Generative AI technologies and dedication to using innovative digital products and services to positively impact people’s lives. As a domain expert and authority in Generative AI, they will own the transformation of T-Mobile Digital by working collaboratively with architects and analysts to deliver comprehensive, scalable, and innovative solutions for sophisticated challenges in the Digital domain.
We need this engineer to develop and deliver groundbreaking proof-of-concept with a hands-on approach fostering technical opinions and insights for executive level leadership (Director/VP up to C level). The individual in this role will be self-motivated, and have the capability of actively seeking out opportunities to educate others (including keynotes/conferences). We need you to be motivated to mobilize colleagues, voice support internally and externally, and contribute to the growth and development of the Generative AI Innovation initiatives across T-Mobile.
In this position, you will explore and orchestrate innovative Generative AI technology initiatives to drive business and technological transformation in Digital, in alignment with the company's vision and purpose. You will consistently expand your knowledge and educate others through design patterns at the innovative of the Digital industry, positively impacting decision-making across all levels within Digital and fostering a culture of growth, teamwork, and innovation.
You will:

Leads critical/sophisticated projects and team members by developing software solutions; building prototypes, conducting POCs and tests, with a focus on Generative AI.

Presents innovative products and solutions to the executive team for consideration.

Independently study current and future technologies fostering a good understanding of Digital adjacent processes and workflows.

Present highly technical concepts to both technical and non-technical decision-makers.

Influence relevant industry technologies and standards.

Continuously learn, create content, and facilitate training held by others on Generative AI technology.

Supervise principal level engineers as needed.

Proactively identify system weaknesses, determining root cause, and enabling solutions for improvement.

Possesses deep understanding in multiple technologies and AI subject areas in order to cultivate and create the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.

Actively involves themselves in industry (via conferences, networking groups, relevant events).

Writes advanced documentation, architecture, capabilities, limitations, and advantages for AI technologies.

Creates clear documentation for new code and systems used by the Digital organization.

Informally coaches and mentors the development of others through in-house workshops and learning sessions.

Coaches and develops engineers across functional teams on technology decisions.

Documents systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the VP+ level.

Understands system parameters, configurations, and how to alter them for desired results.

Uses standard enterprise tools for documentation as needed and drives consistency of documentation methods with peer groups and enterprise teams alike.
Requirements:
-
Applicant must have a Master's of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field or its equivalent and 7 years of relevant work experience.

7 years’ Software Engineering Experience, preferably in the wireless industry.

7 years’ professional experience designing and developing sophisticated multi-tiered applications.

Validated experience as a lead software engineer on at least 4 project impacting multiple business units.

Confirmed experience working with at least 3 business applications or systems and has also provided tier 4 production support.

Experience mentoring other members of engineering teams.

Washington Pay Range : $187,700.00 – $253,900.00
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
