This person will lead a team of talented engineers that will drive the efficiency and scale of technologies used to protect the enterprise. This role provides a unique opportunity to drive Technology direction for T-Mobile USA. The Manager of Cybersecurity will facilitate security related interactions with business partners, OEMs, and service partners. Integration with the cybersecurity community internal to T-Mobile and external with partners such as government, industry, and security organizations is necessary. This person will demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, superb communication skills, and effectively lead the time and effort of all individual contributors, projects, and associated initiatives. A solid understanding of security technologies, architecture, and standard processes will be essential to the success of the role.

Job Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise

  • Own the SOC technology stack, unlock capability and drive efficiencies for scale.
  • Utilize SIEM/SOAR technical skills to maximize value and return on investment.
  • You lead the team, manage workload and provide technical assistance as needed to successfully deliver engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide cybersecurity consultation on designs and/or implementation of cybersecurity platforms ensuring alignment to T-Mobile security standards.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills necessary to engage with diverse multi-functional groups and present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Contribute to strategy, roadmap, and requirements for enterprise information protection to align with technology, product, and overall business strategy.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience

Work Experience

  • 5+ years cybersecurity technical experience
  • Less than 2 years Management leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of security best practices in large-scale environments
  • Experience with high level design architecture, security technologies, Networking, web services and SOA. Understanding of encryption, obfuscation, tokenization technologies
  • Strong presentation skills to large and small audiences.
  • Subject matter expert in many facets of network & information security, including Firewall policy design, SSL Certificate management, vulnerability analysis & mitigation, and other topics as assigned.
  • Strong knowledge of current technological trends and developments in the area of cybersecurity
  • Strong understanding of T-Mobile’s network elements and how they work together (EIT, Engineering & 3rd Party).
  • Knowledge of federal & compliance regulations e.g. SOX, PCI & CPNI
  • 3 years Technical Project Management (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with load balancers (ex – A10, F5), firewalls (ex – CheckPoint), Venafi, MDM (ex – Mobile Iron), Cloud (ex – AWS, Azure), Malware Protection (ex -FireEye), Advanced Persistent Threats (ex – Damballa), Privileged Accounts (ex – CyberArk), SIEM (ex – ArcSight), Log & Event (ex – Splunk), Intrusion IDS/IPS (ex – Symantec) , Cloud Platform (ex – PCF, Docker), Scanning (ex – Qualys), AppSec (ex – Veracode) (Preferred)
  • Medium to advance knowledge of Scripting tools (Python/Perl/Shell/HTML/PHP). ()

Licenses and Certifications

  • CISSP and/or CCSK and/or CCSP and/or CISA/CISM certification a plus (Preferred)

Washington Pay Range : $160,700.00 – $217,400.00

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
