The Analyst, Accounts Receivable role contributes to maximizing cash flow for T-Mobile across dozens of revenue streams for billions of dollars. The AR Analyst does this by forging alignment upstream to unlock frictionless payments with non-subscriber accounts that do business with T-Mobile. The AR Analyst ensures a portfolio of receivables with integrity, and holds the customer account and business owner accountable for their obligations. This is accomplished through exceptional communication, deep partner engagement, insightful business acumen, tenacious follow through, curious analysis, and adaptive approaches.

Job Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management: Manages assigned portfolio of accounts.  Establish an effective AR management strategy to maximize cash flow and minimize debt by improving and optimizing processes to drive operational excellence. Proactively identifies potential disruptions to payments and engages business owners to reduce financial exposure.  Ensures timely and accurate billing and collections of the receivable.  Document all interactions with internal and external customers for historical reference and potential dispute resolution. Portfolio health is managed through review and analysis of account aging.

Process Improvements: Maintains accurate customer data, establish effective billing and cash application processes to minimize exceptions.  Establish a proactive receivables process.  Investigates use of technology to automate repetitive tasks or transfer to outsourced partner.  

Partnership:  Develop strategic partnerships with internal groups to help manage the day-to-day business processes and escalations. Leads cross-functional account reviews across lines of business.  Drives accountability with stakeholders.  Audience may include 10-20+ partners with multiple levels, commonly including up to Director / Sr. Director.

Initiatives and Projects:  Identifies potential process improvements designed to ensure the operational health and success of the department.  This role supports AR department initiatives and projects through leading and collaborating with cross functional teams.

Process Documentation: Create and maintain process documentation & workflows and cross-trains other team analysts as backups.  Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for outsourced partner processes.

Reporting & Reconciliation: Utilize analysis tools to provide analysis. Reconcile and validate postings and activities performed in production. Leverages reporting tools to drive insights and improvement initiatives with business partners.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Finance, Accounting, or other related discipline (Preferred)

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years of work experience in accounts receivable

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office: Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Word, PowerPoint) Advanced Excel (Required)
  • SAP: Experience with SAP or similar ERP system (Preferred)
  • Communication: Superior oral and written communication skills including the ability to flex communication style and to communicate effectively at all organizational levels (Required)
  • Advanced SAP proficiency (Preferred)
  • Analytics: Advanced analytical skills (Preferred)
  • Accounting (Preferred)
  • Cross Functional Relationships: Ability to build lasting and effective working relationships with both internal and external partners to drive resolutions (Required)
  • Detailed Organization: Strong organizational and time management skills; effectively balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines (Required)
  • Vendor Management: Experience working directly with and training offshore vendor partners (Preferred)
