Job OverviewThe Principal Analyst, Data at T-Mobile plays a critical role in transforming business requirements into data-driven solutions. They leverage their expertise in data analysis to interpret complex data sets, thereby informing strategic business decisions. Their role extends to leading and mentoring junior data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. They are also responsible for communicating key findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management, ensuring data-driven insights are at the forefront of decision-making processes. Through their work, they significantly contribute to the optimization of business operations and the achievement of T-Mobile's strategic objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Interprets complex data sets to inform strategic business decisions
- Transforms business requirements into data-driven solutions
- Leads and mentors' junior data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
- Communicates key findings and recommendations to collaborators and management
- Contributes to the optimization of business operations through data analysis
- Supports the achievement of T-Mobile's strategic objectives through data-driven insights
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Data Science or Related Field (Required)
- Master's/Advanced Degree Data Science or Business Analysis (Preferred)
- 4-7 years - Experience with big data architecture and pipeline, such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and Kafka
- 7-10 years - Experience working with relational databases using SQL and data querying, cleaning, wrangling, working with common relational and non-relational databases in big data environments such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud
- 7-10 years - Experience articulating and translating business questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using data
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP): Certification that demonstrates proficiency in data analytics and the ability to transform complex data into actionable insights. (Preferred)
- SnowPro Advanced: Data Analyst: Certification that validates the ability to work with big data environments and conduct advanced data analysis. (Preferred)
- CompTIA Data Analytics Plus certification: Certification that validates the ability to analyze, validate, and present data in a meaningful way. (Preferred)
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate: Certification that demonstrates proficiency in using Power BI for data analysis and visualization. (Preferred)
- At least 18 years of age

Base Pay Range: $104,300 - $188,200Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
