Job Overview:The Director of Threat Detection will lead the Threat Intelligence, Insider Threat Protection, Detection Engineering, and Security Automation teams, ensuring alignment with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. This role is critical in developing and implementing strategies to proactively identify, protect, and detect cyber threats, thereby enhancing our overall security posture. By preventing security incidents and optimizing threat detection processes, the Director will contribute to significant cost savings and protect revenue by ensuring the reliability and integrity of our services.
Additionally, the Director will be responsible for leading these functions in building out the GTM capabilities for Magenta Defense NSS and similar products, which will directly contribute to Consumer, TfB, and TfG revenue generation. This role supports revenue growth by delivering security solutions that can detect and stop emergent cyber threats and gives customers confidence to choose T-Mobile as the most secure 5G communications provider.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership for the deployment and operation of security management software and hardware devices including firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, Anti-virus solutions, Spyware detection and removal, web monitoring, and content filtering type solutions.
- Serves as leadership for information security to the organization
- Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to create information security awareness within the organization.
- Facilitates and oversees information security risk assessments based on data derived from vulnerability scans and translates this into action within the business.
- Monitors compliance with information security policies and procedures, referring problems to the appropriate department manager
- Develops, implements, and sustains an Incident Response process.
- Recruit, develop and retain a set of diverse talent to support the organization.
- Identify protection goals and objectives consistent with corporate strategic plan.
- Continual assessments of the company’s security posture by monitoring and participating in security forums, symposiums, journals and web sites.
- Overall responsibility for directory management within the company, including Active Directory, and Sunone directories.
- Responsible for desktop standards for the company by overseeing a team that is responsible for desktop policies and software deployment

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
