Director, Marketing SMB Strategy, Offers & Promotions

This role blends strategy and execution by analyzing customer needs and market opportunities to build commercial plans for our small, medium and micro business customers. The Director will lead a team that develops and executes segment level offers and programs to support quarterly plans and targets. Responsible for a cross-functional planning team that is responsible for the product roadmap, marketing programs, offers and promotions, operational improvements, device launches and portfolio innovations. In addition to planning, they will lead a team responsible for in-quarter performance management and investment steering, ensuring programs, offers, and plans are delivering on commercial commitments.
This critical role leads strategy and planning for the SMB segment which represents over 80% of Wireless and Other Service Revenue for T-Mobile for Business!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Business offers strategies from ideation to execution based on business targets, macro environment, business segment insights, brand position, competitive landscape, high level business cases, offer go to market strategy, operational feasibility, and performance management & optimization.
  • Responsible for quarterly and annual commercial planning (Subscriber, Revenue, OPEX) including setting acquisition target for products and segments ensuring plans are implemented or steers investments and decisions to pivot.
  • Identify key market trends (opportunities, disruptions), competitive analysis (VZ, AT&T, new entrants) and market share insights. Create multiple scenarios to account for different market conditions and potential challenges.
  • Ability to analyze financial information, exploring tradeoffs and options to evaluate offer strategies and present to the business.  
  • Deliver compelling value propositions for all products across SMB sub-segments.
  • Innovate and optimize the portfolio to meet current and anticipate future customer needs.
  • Develop and lead strategies to attract new subscribers, including the SMB promotions strategy with plans for future quarters as well as handling changes throughout the quarter as needed.
  • Design and implement retention programs.
  • Leadership reporting on key initiatives, new product introductions, events and Weekly Business Review.
  • Work across highly matrixed cross functional teams in direct/indirect sales, marketing, finance, operations, analytics, and product strategy.
  • Ensure appropriate TFB inclusion in all Consumer changes (promotions, portfolio changes, and other company moves) closely engaging with consumer leadership to ensure consistency across lines of business.
  • Manage a team of 10 commercial marketing managers including a leader of leaders supporting the SMB Business with over from 9M business customers.

Work Experience & Education:

  • 10+ years experience in marketing strategy and analytics, segment and channel performance, identifying wireless services trends & insights from customer & competitive research.
  • Strong leadership having lead teams through change & innovation in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience leading in a highly matrixed organization working across teams in finance, sales, sales operations, and product. 
  • Proven financial and business acumen.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business Management; Masters Preferred.

Base Pay Range: $161,900 - $219,100

Corporate Bonus Target: 25%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
