The Director of Product Design plays a critical leadership role in shaping the strategy, vision, and execution of T-Mobile’s mobile product experiences. This leader will oversee and grow a dynamic team of Product Designers and Experience Strategists to define end-to-end customer journeys and design principles that drive the next generation of T-Mobile’s digital ecosystem.With a strong focus on innovation, usability, and cross-functional collaboration, the Director will champion customer-centric design across T-Mobile’s native applications and e-commerce platforms. Job Responsibilities:
- In close collaboration with leaders in Product, Retail, and Marketing, define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the evolution of T-Mobile’s digital products and native applications.
- Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of product designers, experience designers, and strategists.
- Establish and evolve scalable design principles, frameworks, and systems to ensure high-quality, cohesive customer experiences.
- Champion a customer-first approach to design, leveraging research insights, usability best practices, and data-driven decision-making.
- Lead the design execution for key initiatives across mobile apps and e-commerce platforms, ensuring a seamless end-to-end customer journey.
- Define enterprise-wide design principles that align experience strategies with business objectives and product roadmaps. Clearly communicate them in cross-functional discussions and in presentations for senior leadership to influence the digital customer experience.
- Measure and continuously optimize the impact of design initiatives on business and customer success metrics.
Education and Work Experience:
- At least 10 years of deep experience in leading and managing all aspects of User Experience —including user research and usability methodologies, idea facilitation, iterative experimentation and design, interaction patterns and visual language, success measurement, experience strategy and architecture, content strategy and information architecture, creative direction and content authoring, front-end development, design operations.
8+ years strong awareness of the various UX specialties that have emerged, and a pragmatic approach to assembling the right mix of specialists and generalists.
BFA or BS in HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology (or similar), Human-Centered Computing or related field. MFA, MS, MBA or equivalent work experience preferred.
Extensive experience creating and revitalizing UX teams, resulting in significant demonstrated business return.
Solid history of motivating and developing team members through coaching; success building healthy teams; innate ability to attract, develop and retain top creative talent, including both technical and people leaders
- 5+ years experience working in an Agile development environment, strong knowledge of Product Discovery, and familiarity with Program frameworks such as OKRs.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate at an executive level, effectively influence at an enterprise level and successfully sponsor/lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with SVP+ level visibility and accountability.
- Consistent track record of building digital experience strategy and design organization and grooming high potential people managers.
- Strong cross-functional change leadership experience with ability to set the change agenda, manage and lead through organizational and/or industry disruption, and achieve results both directly and indirectly.
- Advanced experience in the following areas:
- Design execution, rapid prototyping, communication, workflow and creative asset management systems.
- Experience strategy and journey management tools.
- Content and workflow management systems including Adobe Experience Manager and the Adobe ecosystem.
- Collaboration tools including Teams and SharePoint.
- Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design libraries, and native application design paradigms, including relevant technical stacks.
- International accessibility standards and guidelines, User-Centered Design/UX Practice certification - CUA Certification (CXA, CXPA encouraged) or relevant work experience at an HFI-certified organization.
- Agile leadership or development certification - SAFe Agilist or SCRUM certification strongly preferred.

Base Pay Range: $185,600 - $251,000Corporate Bonus Target: 25%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
