The Director, Retail Intelligence will be a driving force in shaping the future of T-Mobile’s retail experience. As part of the Retail Innovation and Steering team, this role will apply the power of data, emerging technology, and industry insights to create transformative retail strategies that enhance customer engagement and fuel business growth. By deeply understanding consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive dynamics, the Director will help craft a forward-looking retail approach that positions T-Mobile as an industry and category leader.This role plays a vital role in T-Mobile’s vision to create the world's leading retail format, integrating the best physical, human, and digital elements for a seamless and personalized customer experience that creates durable brand differentiation and attracts customers for life. The Director will champion the evolution of mobile-led shopping and engagement, ensuring customers benefit from AI-powered personalization, interactive digital experiences, and tailored recommendations that make each visit more meaningful. Additionally, the Director will support the transformation of T-Mobile’s newest retail formats, ensuring they set the industry standard for immersive, premium interactions. Through close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Retail, Marketing, Consumer Sales, and Digital—the Director will translate insights into action, driving bold innovations that redefine how customers engage with the brand.
Beyond internal collaboration, this role will act as a thought leader, partnering with industry experts, agencies, and global retail innovators to bring fresh perspectives and category-changing ideas into T-Mobile’s ecosystem. By leading workshops, innovation sessions, and strategic engagements, the Director will help shape the future of retail, ensuring T-Mobile remains a disruptor in the space.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer behavior trends and leverage data insights to optimize T-Mobile’s retail experience, ensuring alignment with evolving consumer expectations and reshaping customer preference for mobile-led shopping.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive movements to identify emerging opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
- Leverage insights from experimentation markets to assess early-stage outcomes, refine measurement frameworks, and identify local trends. Provide strategic recommendations for scaling successful tactics, guiding future market expansion, and informing retail strategy refinement. Focus on measurement, analysis, and applying learnings to drive innovation in retail experiences.
- Assess and integrate emerging technologies that enhance customer engagement, operational efficiency, and store-level innovation, ensuring dynamic and AI-powered personalization in the shopping experience.
- Lead strategic partnerships with top consultants, agencies, and technology providers to accelerate retail innovation and transformation.
- Develop traffic steering strategies that guide customers toward digital self-service options while ensuring retail-intended traffic steering aligns with T-Mobile’s broader retail portfolio strategy.
- Oversee data and insights across T-Mobile’s retail portfolio, evaluating whether traffic steering and differentiation strategies are delivering expected outcomes; including in-store experiences, app engagement, etc.
- Provide insights and strategic recommendations on fulfillment innovation, evaluating self-service and omnichannel options to enhance customer convenience. Determine where these experiences should be offered in alignment with T-Mobile’s retail portfolio and traffic steering strategies, leveraging measurement and analysis to optimize impact.
- Collaborate with senior leadership across Retail, Marketing, Consumer Sales, and Digital teams to align strategies and execute retail transformation goals.
- Mentor and empower a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and excellence in execution.
The Experience You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of experience in retail, consumer experience, analytics, business strategy, or related fields, with a strong track record of driving innovation and transformation.
- 5+ years leading data-driven strategy, analytics, transformation, or retail innovation teams with a proven ability to translate insights into action.
- Deep expertise in customer behavior analytics, spatial analytics, fulfillment metrics, and experimentation market insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Strong understanding of traffic steering strategies, omnichannel fulfillment, and portfolio differentiation within a dynamic retail landscape.
- Proven ability to evaluate emerging technologies and leverage AI-driven insights to enhance customer experiences and optimize engagement.
- Exceptional executive-level communication, problem-solving, and strategic influence skills.
- A strong commitment to inclusive leadership, with proven experience fostering diverse, high-performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
