T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. The Engineer, Software is located in Bellevue, WA and
will design, implement, and deploy software which meet customer's requirements, scales easily, removes the limitations of traditional solutions, and supports deployment in highly available environments.


Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain a robust and scalable automated testing framework using Swift and Objective-C with native XCUITest for mobile application.

  • Support engineering projects by developing software solutions, conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations.

  • Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows.

  • Develop a full software stack.

  • Understand the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.

  • Collaborate with technical teams and utilizes system expertise to deliver technical solutions.

  • Document systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption at the engineer level.

  • Contribute to emerging technologies to deliver business goals.

  • Understand current technology that supports business goals.

  • Present new ideas which improve an existing system/process/service utilizing new frameworks.

  • Perform source code management with GITHUB or GITLAB. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Gitlab with YAML enabling seamless integration of automated tests into the development workflow.

  • Engage in feature development using Swift and XCode for iOS applications.

  • Automate web APIs, utilizing tools like Postman and Newman framework, to validate data integrity, request-response handling, and API functionality.

  • Identify, document, and prioritize defects and issues using bug tracking tools JIRA and qTest to provide clear and concise bug reports.

  • Design and execute comprehensive performance tests utilizing HP LoadRunner and JMeter to assess application responsiveness, scalability, and stability.

  • Perform SQL testing to validate data accuracy, consistency, and integrity within the application's database.

  • Design and develop RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core, enabling communication between various client applications and backend systems.

  • Understanding of testing concepts, including black-box, white-box, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and Appium with expertise in designing and implementing Selenium and Appium-based based BDD and data driven frameworks for web and mobile applications.            

  • Generate test reports using tools like TestNG, JUnit, Extent Reports, or custom reporting frameworks and provide test metrics to stakeholders to track the progress and quality of testing efforts.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug complex software and environment issues to identify root causes of defects and provide actionable recommendations.

  • Work in Agile/Scrum methodology and participate in meetings like daily scrum calls, retrospective, Backlog grooming and sprint planning.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Security, Electrical Engineering, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Security, Electrical Engineering, or related, and 1 year of relevant work experience.

Skills requirements: Requires experience in each of the following:

  • Design and develop automated test frameworks using Swift and Objective-C with XCUITest.

  • Experience in setting up and managing Agile CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests.

  • Perform API automation testing using tools like Postman and Newman framework.

  • Perform database validation by writing DDL (Data Definition Language) and DML (Data Manipulation Language) queries using SQL Developer and TOAD.

  • Design and develop RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core and .NET, enabling smooth communication between various client applications and backend systems.

  • Develop test scripts using Selenium and Appium. Proficient in a wide array of testing methodologies, encompassing black-box, white-box, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.

    • The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

    • At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance, while Retail and Business Sales roles are eligible for monthly or quarterly sales incentives.
