Job Overview
The Principal Client Partner, Federal Sales, is a highly experienced and motivated business development leader responsible for acquiring and growing T-Mobile's business within the U.S. Federal Government sector. This individual excels at identifying mission-aligned solutions and navigating complex procurement processes within civilian, defense, and intelligence agencies. They possess deep knowledge of federal IT infrastructure, compliance frameworks, and acquisition cycles, and can strategically position T-Mobile's capabilities to support federal modernization initiatives. The Client Partner builds and manages a pipeline of opportunities and develops trusted relationships with government decision-makers, integrators, and contracting officials to drive long-term value.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Drives new business acquisition within the U.S. Federal Government, focusing on agency modernization, secure communications, and mobility solutions. Uses knowledge of the federal acquisition lifecycle, procurement schedules (GSA, SEWP etc.), and mission priorities to identify and pursue opportunities.
  • Coordinates internal resources for timely and compliant responses to RFPs, RFIs, and market research requests. Works cross-functionally with T-Mobile's Sales Engineering, Compliance, Product, and Capture teams to develop tailored proposals for federal requirements.
  • Cultivates relationships with key federal stakeholders, including CIOs, contracting officers, mission leads, and systems integrators. Understands evolving agency missions and aligns T-Mobile’s solutions to address national security, emergency response, or digital transformation goals.
  • Maintains accurate forecasting and opportunity management using federal CRM systems and opportunity tracking aligned with federal fiscal years and agency budgets.
Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Public Administration, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology preferred. (Required)
  • Federal B2G (Business-to-Government) sales or consulting experience within civilian, DoD, or intel agencies. Deep knowledge of Federal Law Enforcement is a must. Preferred
  • Experience selling wireless, mobility, or secure communications technologies into federal agencies. Preferred
  • Experience engaging with C-level executives and senior federal stakeholders including agency executives, procurement officials, and program managers. Preferred
  • Familiarity with federal contracts, budget cycles, and acquisition strategies (e.g., FAR, IDIQ, BPA). Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Federal Business Acumen: Understanding of the federal sales cycle, funding mechanisms, agency hierarchies, and compliance frameworks like FISMA, FedRAMP etc. (Required)
  • Strategic Selling Ability to map agency missions to technical solutions and lead complex sales pursuits through teaming, capture, and procurement phases. (Required)
  • Communication Effective with both technical and non-technical federal audiences; skilled in delivering executive briefings and proposal responses. (Required)
  • Collaboration Works seamlessly with internal and partner teams in a matrixed environment to shape and close federal opportunities. (Required)
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Security Clearance: Secret or higher required, depending on agency engagements (Required)

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Total Target Cash Pay Range: $170,300 - $307,200, inclusive of target incentives

Base Pay Range: $119,210 - $215,040

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in this role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
