Job Overview
T-Mobile's Corporate Strategy & Analysis team is an internal consulting team that works with executive leaders from across the company. Leveraging deep problem solving skills, the team delivers insights and helps leaders make critical strategic and operational decisions. This role coordinates and owns workstreams on projects that tackle complex and ambiguous problems and drive transformational change (e.g., Sprint merger), create new businesses (e.g., Home Internet), and bring innovation to T-Mobile's customers (e.g., Binge On). A Sr. Corporate Strategy Manager plans projects across multiple workstreams, performs analyses, and works with senior decision makers to turn insights into decisions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Independently structure and drive projects. Perform a leading role on projects, working closely with internal clients to understand key business issues and structure problem solving approaches.
  • Synthesize findings.  Translate insights and concepts to actionable recommendations by understanding their impact on the business.
  • Structure analytical problems. Oversee the development of financial and other decision-making models used to analyze data.
  • Empower decision making for business leaders.  Work cross-functionally with client organizations to build buy-in and drive change. Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis to enhance decision making across a range of options.
  • Build a story out of the numbers.  Construct executive level presentations and present complex analytical findings in clear, concise, and decision-impacting manner.
  • Provide professional development. Work with CS&A Managers and Senior Analysts and provide guidance on professional development through project work.

Work Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, quantitative fields preferred (e.g., Economics, Business, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering) required; Masters / Advanced degree, Business Administration or other quantitative / technical field (e.g. Economics, Statistics) preferred
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of management consulting, investment banking or corporate strategy experience or a combination of management consulting and additional strategy work experience (including experience requiring quantitative analysis), with some level of familiarity with tech, telecommunications, or consumer businesses
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects
  • Track record of demonstrating a high level of achievement
  • Strategic and analytic thinking, the ability to influence team members and executives cross-functionally, and an appetite for change and innovation.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Structured thinker. You can break ambiguous problems into pieces using a hypothesis-driven approach. You can structure multiple workstreams and identify interdependencies.
  • Rock-star problem solver.  You can perform a broad array of analytical capabilities, including building complex models (typically in Excel) to drive insights. You are comfortable both with independently developing models and overseeing the development of models.
  • Data analyzer. You are experienced at gathering, manipulating, and analyzing data
  • Project manager. Ability to lead small teams (1-2 people) on a project basis and identifying areas of strength and opportunities in others.
  • Skilled modeler. Skilled in building and overseeing financial and/or decision models and feel comfortable tackling modeling assignments with no oversight. You have comfort with reading and understanding implications of financial statements.
  • Magenta team player. You have experience collaborating in and leading teams and want to bring that experience to the cutting edge of wireless.
  • Clear communicator.  You can synthesize analyses into logical narrative structures independently and create compelling visualizations. You are able to contextually modulate language and messages to tailor to audience (presenting up to SVP level).
  • Independent doer.  You desire a high level of responsibility and can work with minimal supervision.  You are comfortable working in a high-intensity environment.
  • Fearless “Un-carrier” spirit.  You possess a relentless appetite to drive change and aren’t bound by the “status quo”.

Base Pay Range: $117,400 - $211,800

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
