Job OverviewThe Senior Director of Product for AI & Data will spearhead the strategic vision, development, and execution of AI and data initiatives across T-Mobile's consumer-facing and micro-business applications. This role encompasses product leadership over AI capabilities, data-driven applications, ecosystem and the integration of the IntentCX platform—a cutting-edge AI-powered customer experience system co-developed with OpenAI. The Senior Director will oversee a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the seamless delivery of personalized, proactive, and data-informed products.
This leader will have successfully shipped AI-driven digital products to millions of consumers and have led large data product teams to deliver a product roadmap that achieves exceptional customer and internal products leading to impactful business outcomes - unlocking new ways to serve our customers.
Job Responsibilities:
AI & Data Product Strategy
- Oversee the development and deployment of AI-powered data products, including IntentCX, ensuring they meet business and customer needs.
- Integrate AI models and data pipelines into consumer-facing applications, enhancing personalization and proactive service delivery.
- Create a Data-informed and AI-Enabled ecosystem spanning the delivery across verticals of AI Routines, Data Tagging, Reporting, Data Products and Digital Capabilities & AI.
- Develop and launch Digital capabilities like NBA, Infobot, intelligence bot and journey bot. Ensure that we have the right tool sets for capabilities like A/B testing, config management, recommendation, personalization.
- Evaluate and implement emerging AI technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Define and execute the AI and data strategy, integrating IntentCX to enhance customer interactions across all digital touchpoints.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align AI & data initiatives with business objectives, focusing on customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Champion the adoption of AI-driven decision-making processes within the organization.
- Deliver regular updates to senior leadership on product performance, growth opportunities, and challenges. This product team would work cross functionally with Business teams across digital marketing, campaign management and CRM, business reporting, care & sales. The other stakeholders would be IT, Product, legal and privacy.
Customer Experience Enhancement through IntentCX
- Leverage IntentCX to understand customer intent and sentiment in real-time, providing personalized solutions and proactive service.
- Utilize data from T-Mobile's Team of Experts (TEX) and customer interactions to train AI models, enhancing service quality.
- Integrate IntentCX with operational systems to enable autonomous task execution with customer consent.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team, including Directors and Senior Managers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration within the AI & data teams.
- Establish performance metrics and ensure the team's objectives are met.
Data Management & Analytics
- Ensure robust data governance practices, maintaining data accuracy, privacy, and security.
- Develop analytics frameworks to derive actionable insights from customer data, informing business decisions.
- Monitor and optimize data pipelines to support AI and reporting systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and business intelligence teams to implement AI & data initiatives effectively.
- Translate technical capabilities into business solutions, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps.
- Guide teams in leveraging AI models and data tools to drive key business outcomes.
Innovation & Thought Leadership
- Promote a culture of innovation by identifying and experimenting with new AI techniques and tools.
- Represent the company at industry events and forums as a thought leader in AI and data science.
- Collaborate with OpenAI and other partners to enhance IntentCX and explore new AI applications.
The Experience You’ll Bring
- More than 10 years Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment preferably in a large consumer organization with millions of consumer applications and an advanced level understanding of AI-powered customer experiences.
- 5+ years of experience in AI, data platforms, and analytics. Expertise in LLMs and Generative AI field.
- Experience leading digital applications and successfully launching AI-powered data products in the market at a large scale.
- Background working with engineering and a strong understanding of the role of engineering in product development.
- 10+ years of experience in leading strategy, innovation, and data products.
- Advanced knowledge of data tools, techniques, and manipulation including cloud platforms, programming languages, and technology platforms.
- 5+ years leading and developing teams of 5 or more Manager level direct reports with skip-level employees.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience driving enterprise data, analytics, and insights solutions and other technologies.
- Build, lead, mentor, and inspire team(s); managing performance, goals, and development potential, create and foster an environment that values and promotes autonomy, skill mastery, empowerment, transparency, innovation, and learning.

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
