Sr Analyst, Finance

Join a team that is responsible for Managing P&T Project Capital Funding & Approval process along with driving improvements into the business processes within FP&A P&T Finance Org. This position contributes to T-Mobile’s success by working with P&T business partners and accounting on Capex/Opex Project Funding Approval, Project coding, Reporting & Analytics and driving Process Improvement. The successful candidate should be able to build and manage a robust tracking system/dashboard to track the budgets and actual spend on P&T projects and perform analyses to bring insights to P&T business partners. This person will act as a Liaison between P&T business partners and accounting to ensure capital funding process is aligned with accounting principles and compliance and to enable the timely communication. T-Mobile is looking for a Sr. Analyst, P&T Finance who enjoys working with cross functional teams and solving problems. The right candidate for this role is one that has great communication skills, takes initiative and is self-motivated to always improve upon current processes and systems.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with P&T business partners and accounting to support the P&T Project Capital Funding process, which may involve research to develop clarity out of initially vague or incomplete information
  • Maintain P&T project tracking system to analyze the budgeted and actual spend by project and continually evaluate and improve budgeting process
  • Use statistical and financial modeling techniques to forecast, analyze results and identify variances and underlying causes, opportunities, and risks. Provide actionable insights around trends, financial performance. Present findings to Senior Management, including suggestions for course correction 
  • Work internally and with strategic partners to ensure processes and procedures are in place for proper accounting controls and audits
  • Apply effective communication and project management skills to ensure the successful execution of projects and initiatives.  Build successful relationships/partnerships internally within the FP&A organization as well as with the appropriate external business units within T-Mobile.
  • Take the initiative to own a project funding process from beginning to end, which may involve research to develop clarity and distinct work plans out of initially vague information.
  • Seek opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementation

Minimum Required

• 5+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Forecasting, or Budgeting
• Understanding of Finance and Accounting principles.
• Experience building complex models
• Highly proficient in MS Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with limited supervision, manage several priorities
• Superior communication, presentation, and organization skills; ability to communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and concise manner.

Desired
• Wireless Telecom experience
• Proficiency in data mining and analytics software (SQL, SAS, Business Objects, R)
• Working knowledge of Business Objects, SQL, Database or other reporting tool

• Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end processes (e.g. accruals, account analysis)
• Use statistical and financial modeling techniques to analyze results and identify variances and underlying causes, opportunities, and risks. Provide actionable insights around trends, financial performance

Education

• Bachelors Degree. Finance, Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Engineering. Master's degree preferred

Base Pay Range: $67,200 - $121,200

Corporate Bonus Target: 10%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
