
Sr Analyst, Income Tax

The Sr Tax Analyst prepares and maintains income tax records, returns, reports and other related materials. The Sr Tax Analyst also analyzes and researches tax law and will assist in developing/implementing tax strategy.Job Responsibilities:
- Reviews complex income tax returns, related payments, workpapers and documentation.
- Research, analyses and documentation for state income/franchise tax audits, appeals and assessments; supports State Income Tax Manager in response to IDRs, analysis of proposed audit adjustments and defense strategies.
- Assists in the preparation/review of reporting for income taxes including quarterly US GAAP & IFRS tax provisions, effective tax rate modeling and forecasting, the inventory of deferred tax assets and liabilities and ensuring compliance with applicable tax related GAAP and SEC guidance.
- Participates in the research, analysis and documentation of state tax exposure items including FAS 5 analysis for non-income taxes and FIN 48 positions/disclosures for income taxes.
- Participates in the research, analysis and documentation of tax planning initiatives. Remain current in legislative and tax policy initiatives that have a significant impact to the company.
- Analyzes and researches complex multi-state tax issues, develops thoroughly documented technical analysis and work papers and effectively communicates conclusions and recommendations.
- Assists with federal & state income tax planning strategies and participates in the preparation of income tax forecasts.
- Identifies issues, applies independent judgment and provides insights through clear, concise review notes.
- Performs recurring and special projects including other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting or related field (Required)
- Master's Degree in Accounting or Tax (Preferred)
- 3-5 years of progressive tax experience in a US Federal and multi-state environment with emphasis on tax compliance, research and planning. (Required)
- Experience in tax compliance software. (Preferred)
- Experience with Sharepoint, Alteryx and other data management systems.(Preferred)
- Experience with SAP or Oracle (Preferred)
- Telecommunications experience (Preferred)

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
