Sr. Analyst, IT & Business Compliance

The Senior Analyst, IT & Business Compliance is responsible for evaluating and enhancing risk management and control processes across IT, business, finance, risk, and compliance functions. This role involves analyzing business and IT processes to identify control gaps, ensuring alignment with SOX requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement compliance improvements including SOX IT general controls. Strong analytical skills are required to assess risks, provide data-driven recommendations, and effectively communicate complex compliance concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position plays a key role in strengthening internal controls, driving compliance initiatives, and supporting strategic decision-making.

  • Working with a SOX compliance team, partner with internal clients to understand key issues, propose fact-based options/solutions that transform key SOX activities and processes at T-Mobile.
  • Evaluate business and IT changes and system projects to determine the extent of impact to the SOX program and provide a SOX scoping opinion that is supported by data and knowledge of the business
  • Evaluate the design of business process, key reports (IPE), data interface and integrity controls and automated controls to ensure management’s control design addresses key financial statement risks.
  • Monitor and manage IT controls at the ERP, application, database, operating system and process levels including IT security, system integrity, configuration and change management, data processing, and computer operations controls. Work with business partners to ensure accurate process documentation, maintain and update the SOX Controls master list.
  • Identify and report on control weaknesses and enhancements. Evaluate impact of SOX findings and conclude on severity.
  • May also be responsible for assessing end-to-end technology processes for T-Mobile from planning, scope development to execution. This includes:
    • Designing and evaluating end-to-end business systems architecture and processes to effectively manage IT risks to document the end-to-end systems architecture and process to enable risk analysis to be performed.
    • Identifying IT and financial risks, and designing financial, ITGC and data integrity controls to mitigate these risks leveraging GRC systems and standards such as NIST, COBIT, and other accounting/audit standards.
    • Collaborate with IT, business, and 3rd line risk functions to update SOX documentation including process flowcharts, narratives, risk and controls matrices and the evaluation of scoping of controls as new systems are developed or modified.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for automating controls by partnering with various teams in executing automation to enhance risk mitigation efforts.
    • Validate design of IT data integrity and general controls and facilitating internal and external audits of technology processes.

  • Validate design effectiveness of business process, IT general controls, and IT automated controls and facilitating internal and external audits.
  • Identify root cause and opportunities for improvement of internal controls and acquire consensus on remediation plans with key business partners
  • Review remediation plans for SOX  business process and IT issues for audit and self-identified issues, including monitoring of execution of remediation plans to remediate risks in achieving operational and compliance objectives.
  • Oversee the ongoing monitoring of risks and controls by the first line and establish ongoing risk reporting for SOX leadership.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Accounting, Business or a related field Area of Study (Required)
  • 4-7 years Experience in an IT organization, experience working in SOX program environment. (Required)

Base Pay Range: $83,900 - $151,300

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
