Position summary

T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Architects, Systems located in Bellevue, WA will design and architect internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems, as required to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the design and technical lead on complex projects, contribute to strategic vision and technical decisions, participate in vendor analysis and selection projects.

  • Introduce process improvements, complete proof of concept projects for the introduction of changes to our architecture and provide oversight on the work of other technical staff.

  • Exercise competency in customer focus, change and innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building and influencing, talent management, result focus, and inspirational leadership.

  • Maintain expertise as an SME in three or more e-commerce technical disciplines including Catalog, ordering, checkout, user management and account management and define architectural standards and best practices within those disciplines.

  • Interact with senior management to effect solutions for enterprise business requirements.

  • Guide architectural focus groups as a prime subject-matter expert for business sub-systems like Catalog, Shop, Checkout, Account Management, Billing & Payments, User and Org Management, and Order Search.

  • Mentor team members on new technologies for application design, development and maintenance using Java and related framework.

  • Prepare and maintain documents that include architecture diagrams, data models, and navigation maps pertinent to T-Mobile for Business frontline and backend systems.

  • Analyze and prepare recommendations to address existing and potential trouble areas in systems (Care, Direct, Indirect, Self-Serve portals) and procedures (Add-A-Line, Activation, Upgrade, Payments etc.) across the organization, as well as design and prepare recommendations on new solutions both in relation to hardware and software design.

  • Provide direct technical evaluation of third-party products for inclusion in TMobile solutions.

  • Help define software development processes.

  • Translate T-Mobile business requirements for into technical requirements and assist other team members in implementing the solution.

  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Skill requirements:

  • (1) Guiding and developing applications/microservices using technologies such as SpringBoot, AWS, Apigee, SQL, Python, Java Script, HTML, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Bitbucket, GitLab, Maven, Apache Tomcat, and Oracle/SQL Server;

  • (2) Designing the architecture of overall B2B and B2C applications, handling the team technically to deliver the solution using various technologies like JAVA/J2EE, Angular, SQL, IBM WCS, JMS, and other web technologies;

  • (3) Designing, developing, and debugging the complex and multi-tiered applications on two or more of the following operating systems: Windows, Unix, and Linux OS;

  • (4) Utilizing Web, SOAP, REST, and XML services to conduct Enterprise integration, and building eCommerce applications using store front and extended sites model of commerce;

  • (5) Designing and implementing various subsystems of IBM WCS such as Catalog Management Subsystem, Member Subsystem (e.g. User, Account, Organization), and Order Management; and

  • (6) Customizing and implementing application caching system and IBM DynaCache, Apache Java caching system and Micro Services for B2B Stores on IBM WCS Platform for better performance of application.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Application or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Application or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

OTHER:  Work hours: 40 hours/week. Washington Pay Range: $182,312.00 to $187,312.00/year.

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
