We are seeking a meticulous, logical, data-business-and-tech-savvy strategic problem solver with a natural curiosity to explore, understand, and command our fragmented media data ecosystems – with a focus on owned-media digital metrics to support paid media optimization, attribution and analytical projects. Our team will rely heavily on you to think on your feet and thoroughly vet how our foundational data elements are set up.


The ideal candidate is a meticulous, tech-savvy, strategic problem solver with a natural curiosity to explore, understand, and command our fragmented media data ecosystems. They will think on their feet and thoroughly vet how our foundational data elements are set up, create customer-centric recommendations informed by analysis, good business insight, and partner with the business and tech partners to drive improvements in a matrixed environment through creativity and effective communication. They will lead collaborative efforts with various teams including marketing, IT, and platform teams on complex data integrations, and lead the design and development of dataset structures & interfaces. Comfortable acting as an internal data SME, they know where datasets are that will answer business questions, are adept at using various software and finding solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal team members and stakeholders as a SME to determine business requirements on digital metrics, combining the mindset of a business analyst, data analyst, and engineer. Advise on data availability and quality based on technical or real-life limitations, level of effort (LOE), consistency of definitions, and anticipate data utilization implications in media platforms.
  • Partner with technology teams on implementation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance (QA). Understand communication best practices, including providing context for each requirement, consolidating information, prioritization, short-and-long-term planning, and establishing timelines.
  • Configure platforms for metrics collection (which will involve working new and existing platforms and require exploration on configuration options that aligns with Media Analytics’ goals), considering implications across teams in terms of day-to-day operations, automation, and analytical projects. Assess how metrics are configured across platforms and environments, where definitions and implications may differ due to data processing, and evaluate their impacts on projects and utilization.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including internal/external teams, vendors, and agency partners. Set reasonable expectations on metrics, roles/responsibilities, and timelines. Create tools and dashboards (e.g. documentation, processes, training, visualization in web analytics tool or cross-platform data environment, etc.) for self-service while maintaining visibility on utilization, lead troubleshooting and impact assessments, provide guidance as needed, and drive governance while maintaining partnerships and goodwill.
  • Adopt a "trust but verify" attitude and enable others to do the same by being ready to “show your work” and how certain conclusions or recommendations are formed
  • Maintain data health, readiness and quality, balancing business and technical considerations to determine what is good enough (by use case) versus what needs to be addressed; determine business impact and next steps
  • Responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by management. Ensure alignment with the manager's approach and direction, seek guidance and input. Be a creative problem solver to develop future-proof solutions to fill capability gaps, and be sensitive to privacy, compliance, and governance practices.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required: in a quantitative field such as engineering, science, mathematics, information systems. Masters or PhD a plus

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years, 10 years preferred, in hands-on analytics or technical role, involving data requirements communication, solutioning, and multi-source data analysis.
  • Minimum 2 years or equivalent, 5 years preferred, experience focused in digital (web) data centric, hands-on analytics and technical implementation
  • Minimum 2 years or equivalent, 5 years preferred, experience focused in working with developers by providing data and functional requirements
  • Minimum 2 years or equivalent, 5 years preferred, experience focused in working with Business stakeholders in gathering business requirements
  • Web Analytics Proficiency: Advanced skills in platforms like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics, with knowledge of digital data availability and data capture practices. Front-end web development knowledge (HTML, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Data Analysis Skills: Advanced proficiency in data analysis, troubleshooting, and end-to-end data management. Familiarity with scripting languages (SQL, Python), Excel, and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail and Prioritization: Meticulous attention to detail while balancing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication and Influence: Ability to maintain relationships, influence, and communicate complex analysis and solutions clearly at the executive level, while also investigating and discussing technical details with analysts and engineers.
  • Continuous Learning: Ability to develop new analytical skills and technical knowledge in a rapidly evolving landscape.
  • Solid Communication Skills: Partner effectively with teams and vendors, explain abstract concepts succinctly, adapt language to different audiences, minimize confusion or miscommunication, and maintain organized documentation.
  • Independent Work: Ability to work independently with limited structure, while taking direction and feedback from the manager, recognizing opportunities, and prioritizing based on broader business goals.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience with paid digital media (Display, Video, OTT, Social, Search), PII-based communication channels, AdTech (DMPs, DSPs, Ad Servers), website tagging/pixels, media campaign operations, and digital tracking mechanics.

Base Pay Range: $96,700 - $174,400

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
