Job Overview
At T-Mobile, Senior Database Administrators are the trusted experts driving the performance and evolution of our data platforms. You’ll lead the charge in configuring, monitoring, and optimizing large-scale Oracle environments that power our business systems nationwide.     The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration, monitoring, performance tuning, replication, backup/restore, and troubleshooting of Oracle database environments in a highly dynamic and mission-critical infrastructure. This role provides advanced technical and operational support for T-Mobile’s business systems, ensuring database security, integrity, and optimal performance across on-premises and cloud environments.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Administer and support large-scale Oracle database environments across on-premises and AWS infrastructures.
    • Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle software, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and compliance requirements.
    • Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard and Oracle GoldenGate for high availability, replication, and disaster recovery.
    • Perform advanced performance tuning and optimization of database queries, indexes, and schemas for mission-critical workloads.
    • Automate deployment, patching, and maintenance processes using Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
    • Develop and maintain scripts (Bash, Python, PL/SQL) to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
    • Configure and monitor database health and performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Grafana, and Prometheus.
    • Enforce enterprise security and access controls, manage user roles and privileges, and ensure compliance with policies such as SOX and PCI.
    • Partner with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to ensure data integrity, scalability, and system reliability.
    • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high-impact production issues.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of standards, documentation, and automation frameworks.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience (required)

    Experience

    • 5–8 years of experience in Oracle database administration and performance tuning (required)
    • Experience supporting enterprise-level production systems in hybrid cloud environments (preferred)

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Advanced proficiency in Oracle architecture, RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
    • Strong command of backup/recovery strategies, security management, and capacity planning.
    • Experience with automation and DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and GitLab CI/CD.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    Base Pay Range: $100,100 - $180,600

    Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

    At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
