T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr. Engineers, Software located in Overland Park, KS, will perform diagnostic investigation into complex technical design issues in an application used for the production network site build, and resolve and identify root causes.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance and advice to other engineers who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, and testing complex, applications, databases, and data related to the network build.

  • Serve as primary interface between the business and development for technical escalations and problem management, including applications, databases, servers, and data related to network site build.

  • Also, provide technical solutions for the system and end-users.

  • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge to perform extensive analysis of software code, data, and networks to determine the problem, provide input into the design, design review, implement software, validation, testing of applications and its infrastructure used in site build.

  • Use professional concepts to carry out expert level diagnostic investigation of network site build, network planning, site development, software, interface, database, server, and data issues to identify and resolve the root causes.

  • Resolve highly complex technical design issues in applications used for the production network site builds that cannot be resolved through normal operations and provide leadership for root cause analysis to drive issue resolutions and limits impact to the customer.

  • Collaborate with T-Mobile engineering, product development, application administrators, database administrators, server administrators and vendor technical organizations when required to drive long-term product improvements.

  • Work with other Technical Support Engineers, Software Engineers, Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Database Administrators and Server Administrators to support and troubleshoot production applications, interfaces, databases, servers, network, and data used for network site build.

  • Support and troubleshoot production applications, interfaces, databases, servers, network, and data.

  • Perform extensive analysis of software code, data, and networks to determine the problem, provide inputs into the design, design review, implements software, validation, and testing of applications and its infrastructure used in site build.

  • Develop and deliver documentation to development groups on troubleshooting and analysis for guidance on current application issues that impacts site build.

  • Lead development and application teams with the validations of new enhancements to ensure trouble free introduction into the application used for site build.

  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Skill requirements:

  • (1) Working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server and SQL programming including Oracle stored procedures using tools like SQL Plus, PL/SQL Developer.

  • (2) Working with Application servers and Web servers and a wide variety of development tools. Maintaining activities and monitoring the Performance of the application using Splunk and AppDynamics.

  • (3) Using technologies such as JAVA/J2EE, JSP, EJB, and Hibernate, Spring and Struts, Jenkins UNIX, GIT etc. to develop the solutions for the software applications.

  • (4) Developing using IntelliJ, RAD and My Eclipse IDEs with WebSphere, WebLogic and JBoss application servers and supporting services such as log4j, ant, and maven.

  • (5) Implementing front-end UI development skills using scripting languages like HTM, HTML5, DHTML, JavaScript, DOJO, Angular Js, jQuery, XML, JSON, Ajax and CSS.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

    OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week. Kansas Pay Range: $133,078.00 to $167,400.00/year.

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
