T-Mobile is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Senior Engineers, Software located in Snoqualmie, WA will build, distribute, scalable and reliable data pipelines that ingest and process data at scale and in real-time.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Model, design, develop, code, test, debug, document and deploy application to production through standard processes.

  • Partner with other technology teams to deliver end to end solutions.

  • Conduct design and code reviews in a continuous deployment environment.

  • Recognize system protocols, how systems operate and data flows.

  • Be aware of current technology benefits and independently develop a full software stack.

  • Recognize the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.

  • Interact with system engineers to define system requirements and/or necessary requirements for automation.

  • Drive engineering projects by developing software solutions, conducting tests and inspections and preparing reports and calculations.

  • Supervise base and associate level engineers as needed.

  • Contribute to designs to implement new ideas which improve an existing and new system/process/service.

  • Contribute to designs to implement new ideas which utilize new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/service.

  • Review existing designs and processes to highlight more efficient ways to complete existing workload more effectively through industry perspectives.

  • Recognize the creation of company IPR.

  • Maintain knowledge of existing technology documents.

  • Write basic documentation on how technology works and create clear documentation for new code and systems used.

  • Document systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the manager level.

  • Recognize the protection of company IPR.

  • Continuously learn and teach others existing and new technologies.

  • Contribute to the development of others through mentoring or in-house workshops and learning sessions.

  • Contribute to new and existing technology options that support business goal.

  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week.

  • No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Skill requirements:

  • (1) Utilizing big data technologies including Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Hbase, Kafka, and Spark, and Spark Structured Streaming.

  • (2) Developing scalable and multi-threaded applications for collecting and parsing large volumes of live vendor data with PERL, C++, Java, and Python.

  • (3) Developing scalable ingestion pipeline using Kafka and Apache Spark structured Streaming.

  • (4) Performing Apache Impala and Oracle DB operations and administration.

  • (5) Performing server and storage design for Big Data solutions using AWS services.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: We will accept any combination of education and experience deemed equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.

    OTHER: Work hours: 40 hours/week. Washington Pay Range: $190,486.00 to $199,900.00/year.

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
