
Sr Engineers, Systems Design

Senior Engineers, Systems Design located in Concord, CA will apply engineering principles to design and optimize network coverage, performance, and capacity of the GSM, UMTS and LTE Radio Network.Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform advanced monitoring and review of radio network Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and participate in the development of inter and intra-team processes for system performance to improve network performance.
Monitor statistical network performance data; collect, process, and review drive test data; and work with the operations team to troubleshoot site network problems.
Apply expertise supporting Layer management, Traffic Steering, IFLS/IFLB in Multicarrier network and SON related features and functionality and will work with other engineers to evaluate and resolve issues, update databases with resolution or actions taken, and participate with federal, state, and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning compliance.
Perform development, testing, and validation of RF (radio frequency) feature plan proposals and provide input in defining implementation guidelines for approved new features and technologies.
Effectively apply RF principles to performance activities and serve as subject matter expert on GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/LTE and emerging technology theory.
Apply expertise supporting 2G/3G/4G/VoLTERAN network structure, Radio network performance KPls (Accessibility, Retainability, Usage, and Mobility) and related Counters and 3GPP Events (including L3 Msg/SIP Cause Code analysis).
Apply expertise managing VoLTE E2E KPI Optimization/Performance, including End to End Call flow/IMS/SIP messaging; implementing Ericsson's advanced features and Special Event management skills; and vendor's small cells and NOKIA and Ericsson products and inter-operability.
Apply expertise utilizing Ericsson 2G, 3G & L TE OSS/ENM/BO platforms and Ericsson Features, Parameters, and AMOS commands.
Apply expertise troubleshooting Network issues using UEH/UETR/CTR/SIP/IMS Internal/ EPC Trace analysis of network, and will apply expertise utilizing IRIS, EEA (T-lnsight), Actix, Asset, Mapinfo tools and implementation expertise of Ericsson EDOS tools, Excel macros, and SOL programming.
Leverage E2E customer experience monitoring tools such as IRIS, EEA(T-Insight), Actix, Asset, MapInfo, Ericsson EDOS tools.
Leverage advanced computer coding skills (Excel macros and SQL programming required). Provide engineering support to Sales/Customers by responding to customer and employee network related complaints and will provide input to management on tactical and strategic issues and act as developer and resource for market, regional, and national planning and performance tools.
Lead the market RF roll-out of major projects and initiatives on network modernization, bandwidth upgrades, new carrier additions, and introductions of new technologies.
Create engineering processes and procedures to improve results and maximize productivity. Mentor more junior RF Engineers for technical growth.
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.
Skill requirements:
(1) Experience supporting 2G/3G/LTE/VoLTE RAN network structure, Radio network performance KPI's (Accessibility, Retainability, Usage, and Mobility) and related Counters and 3GPP Events (including L3 Msg/SIP Cause Code analysis).

Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
