Sr Engineers, Systems Reliability

Sr. Engineers, Systems Reliability located in Overland Park, KS will build out/maintain existing Adobe Experience Manager instances as needed.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • perform regular maintenance (software patches, debugging, etc.) operations on the Adobe marketing cloud (AEM) products;

  • monitor and diagnose the status of various servers for any bottlenecks and resolving the same;

  • create Splunk dashboard to query the logs out of production environments so they can be monitored for the performance of the instance;

  • scripts for the purpose of cleaning up logs, packages, assets and tar files on AEM instances in order to reduce the Disk Space usage;

  • build key business solutions as part of AEM platform operations development utilizing technologies such as J2EE, Spring Framework, Docker, Adobe Experience Manager, HTL, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, OSGI, Apache Sling, Servlets, RESTful services, SOAP services, XML/HTTP, JSON/HTTP, JMS/MQ and Oracle database;

  • develop AEM components, templates, services, sling models, configurations and workflows in order to support the Sprint website;

  • create Java servlets to Get and Post data from ATG to AEM using MuleSoft as a layer for caching;

  • develop Touch UI components for the authors to add content to the sprint.com website;

  • complete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities, contributing to team meetings, troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms;

  • analyze the attributes involved in a technical requirement and creating a catalog model to handle them across brands like Sprint, Boost, Tapas, and Virgin Mobile;

  • create conceptual, logical and physical data models as per the requirement using advanced knowledge of data modeling;

  • work with the architects/SME to gather the technical requirements and identify the entities and attributes involved;

  • perform Peer code reviews, ensures Code Quality using Mockito and Junit;

  • provide continuous involvement in the syncing of Sprint products from ATG to AEM that will be updated on the website every day;

  • Create EC2 instances, manage and change the network management load balancing and user management through IAM in Amazon Web Services (AWS);

  • work on production support, participate in UAT (User acceptance testing) and performance tuning;

  • adopt git version control best practices for code commits as well as create the branches and merging;

  • create release artifacts and work on devops activities to deploy them, also write python scripts for monitoring & task automation; and

  • configure the build and deploy jobs in Jenkins for all AEM Maven projects.

Skill requirements:

  • Experience (1) Experience in creating and maintaining Amazon Web Services (AWS) services, user account management IAM, Security Groups, VPC, Route53, DynamoDB, S3, or comparable storage services.

  • Experience (2) Experience in container orchestration tools including Docker or comparable tools to Dockerize applications.

  • Experience (3) Performing regular AEM (Adobe Experience Manager) Server maintenance activities including Tar PM optimization, Tar PM Index Merge, Consistency Checker, Datastore Garbage Collection, Data Store Consistency Check, Workflow and Audit purging and Installing AEM6x service packs, hot fixes and troubleshooting AEM components, templates, services, sling models, Configurations, and workflows to support websites.

  • Experience (4) Experience in building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or comparable tools for end-to-end automation for all builds and deployments.

  • Experience (5) Experience in developing custom AEM components on top of Java Content Repository and Apache Sling, CRX, CQ5, or comparable systems. Build key business solutions, as part of platform operation using Java, JavaScript Spring Framework and RESTful Services.

  • Experience (6) Experience in utilizing scripting languages including Python, Shell, or comparable tools to perform daily system monitoring and backup procedures to ensure data security, availability and integrity of required resources, and proper recording of application log reviews.

Experience and education requirements:

  • PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Digital Systems Software, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or related, and three years of relevant work experience.

  • ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Digital Systems Software, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or related, and five years of relevant work experience.

    Candidate’s pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
