
Sr Engineers, Technical Support

Sr. Engineers, Technical Support located in Overland Park, Kansas will conduct and oversee testing of software products using prescribed testing procedures and plans.Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
conduct detailed procedures and records results of tests and may maintain records of testing;
alert engineers/analysts to problems in software or hardware;
conduct a wide range of quality-control tests and analysis to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements;
execute the most complex tests according to plans and scripts, document problems in an issue log, and retest software corrections to ensure problems are resolved;
create test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow;
develop and revise more complex test plans and scripts;
identify, recommend, and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness of quality assurance strategies;
coordinate activities of the test team and assist in monitoring project schedules and costs;
perform pre-commission, commissioning, integration, maintenance, and upgrades to LTE/5G cell site equipment and auxiliary equipment;
commissioning and integration of Nokia, Samsung, Ericsson, and Alcatel Lucent cell sites from factory default to commercial on air;
in-depth understanding of LTE/5G BTS installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting;
create and manage Customer Information Questionnaires (CIQ);
responsible for equipment powered up and testing in a field environment including cable connections;
ensure the lasted software and the correct configurations are loaded into the equipment;
ensure the cell site is connected to the network and integrated to become a functional part of T-Mobile’s network;
ensure any new hardware is connected to the network and integrated into the cell site;
seamless end-to-end LTE/5G cell site test support and ownership of cell site planning phases to remote LTE Cell site acceptance (TEMS, QxDM, AMOS, ENM, NetAct);
create T-Mobile specific commissioning, integration, and LTE/5G cell site acceptance methods of procedures;
single point-of-contact for integration, commissioning, and acceptance issues;
create Network Deployment Custom Test Plans for feature Activations and integration testing;
support the knowledge transfer of commissioning and Integration to other engineers; and
define Key Performance Indicators to ensure there are no customer experience impacts.
Skill requirements:
Experience (1) Experience with troubleshooting, installing, commissioning and the network integration of Ericsson and Nokia cell sites from factory default to commercial on air.
Experience (2) Experience with RF Propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools, carrier aggregation, beamforming, antenna theory, cell site software, network parameters and features.
Experience (3) Experience developing Ericsson and Nokia Integration and re-configuration scripting tools including Ericsson eNodeb Auto Provisioning Scripting, Nokia eNode Auto Provisioning Scripting and Auto Customer Information Questionnaire tools.
Experience (4) Experience in the Radio Access Network (RAN) deployment process including RFDS, Site acquisition, CIQ, Integration, Commissioning, and ATP.
Experience (5) Experience with tools including Test Mobile System (TEMS) and QUALCOMM extensible Diagnostic Monitor (QxDM).
Experience (6) Experience with element management systems including Base Station Manager (BSM), LTE system Manager (LSM), Nokia network management system (Netact), Advanced Managed Object Scripting (AMOS), and Ericsson Element Management (ENM) systems.
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related, and three years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related, and five years of relevant work experience.
Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance.

Candidate’s pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
