Job OverviewThe Skills Team Leader leads a multi-disciplinary team delivering critical business insights and actionable plans to guide strategic and operational decisions for business growth through the skills enablement journey. This role is responsible for leading the initiatives and unifying the team in developing and implementing strategies, solutions, processes, and technologies that align with our skills-based vision. This people leader leads all aspects of resources performing, detailed planning and analysis, identifying trends and defining, designing and driving opportunities to impact business growth. The Skills Team Leader effectively communicates to leadership through data, logic, and solutions in a clear and concise manner. This role partners cross-functionally to align skills initiatives with organizational goals and ensures effective partner engagement and change management. By fostering collaboration and using industry best practices, the Skills Team Leader influences change and shapes business growth.
** This is a hybrid role (3 days/week in the office) and can be based in Bellevue, WA or Overland Park, KS **
Job Responsibilities:
- Guide the direction of the skills journey and oversee annual planning for skills initiatives. Lead partner engagement and governance for cross-functional skills mapping and enablement efforts. Ensure timely execution and alignment of skills initiatives with organizational vision.
- Develop and implement skills governance frameworks to ensure alignment with business needs and goals. Validate skills program initiatives and coordinate decision-making processes.
- Design and complete change management strategies to support skills journey. Elevate leadership narratives to drive a data-driven, skills-focused culture.
- Select, manage, and evaluate a team of professionals that perform detailed planning and analyses, create meaningful business insights and make recommendations to drive strategic decisions. Provides mentoring, coaching and career development for team members.
- Encourages team members to partner across teams to develop comprehensive understanding of critical business needs, identifies key issues, and structures problem-solving approaches accordingly. Fosters collaboration and communication cross-functionally to help their team build consensus and influence strategic vision.
- Directs team members in crafting a strategic story out of the plans and data to present complex findings in a clear, concise and decision-impacting manner.
- Consult and advise on skills-based approach and provide guidance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business Management or related area of study or equivalent years of experience; Master's/Advanced Degree MBA preferred.
- Experience with implementing and using Workday Talent Suite and other skills mapping technology solutions to drive operational initiatives.
- 7-10 years demonstrable experience in building and implementing talent strategies that drive organizational growth and performance.
- 7-10 years experience in framing complex problems, identifying key issues that impact business decisions and providing data driven recommendations.
- Strong background in performing data analysis and reporting to identify trends, generate insights, and inform business strategies.
- 4-7 years experience handling projects independently, engaging and getting agreement from partners, creating roadmaps and project plans. Ability to think a few steps ahead, to lay out thoughtful and achievable project plans in a disciplined manner. Understand how to engage others and what information and data is needed to achieve goals.
- 2-4+ years of leading teams in direct reporting relationship in analytics, strategy, or project management organization. Demonstrated experience growing and leading high-performing teams.
- Leadership in skills-based organizations and management consulting highly desirable.
- Proven ability to frame problems, apply strategic frameworks, and develop actionable strategies that drive business outcomes.
- Strong track record in planning, driving decisions, and leading change initiatives across diverse teams and functions.
- Strong ability to synthesize information into succinct, written, visual, and verbal communications. Ability to articulate rationale and present in front of all levels.
- Ability to think through complex problems.

Base Pay Range: $130,400 - $235,300Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
