As the Senior Manager of Data Governance in the Finance Procurement and Supplychain (FP&SC) Data and Reporting Center of Excellence, you will lead a team to scale our data governance program within a data product-driven organization.This role will be instrumental in defining standards and processes that ensure the availability, usability, integrity, and security of data across our information products. You and your team will work cross-functionally with information product managers, data engineering, analytics, compliance, and business teams to embed governance into the data product lifecycle, enabling trustworthy and high-quality data that drives business decisions and innovation.
Lead Data Governance Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive data governance strategy for FP&SC aligned with business goals, the lifecycle of data products, and T-Mobile’s Enterprise Data Governance strategy.
Define and Enforce Policies: Tailor data policies, standards, and procedures for data quality, metadata, access management, and data lineage.
Governance Across the Data Product Lifecycle: Partner with data product teams to ensure governance is embedded at all stages—from ideation and design to deployment and monitoring.
Data Stewardship: Build and manage a network of data stewards and custodians across business units, ensuring accountability and ownership for critical data assets.
Facilitate Data Governance Councils: Manage the structure of FP&SC data governance councils, escalations, and high priority topics requiring council decisions.
Data Quality at Source: Partner with data product teams, data stewards, and IT teams to improve data quality by addressing root cause challenges in source applications.
Metadata and Cataloging: Lead initiatives to build and maintain a robust data catalog, enabling discoverability and proper documentation of data, reporting, and analytic assets.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with data-related regulations
Monitor and Report: Establish metrics to monitor data governance effectiveness and data quality KPIs; present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Lead Team of Data Governance Professionals: Hire and develop a team to focus on activating stewardship and lead initiatives to improve data quality at source.
Training and Advocacy: Educate stakeholders on data governance practices and promote a data-driven culture across the organization.
EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 4 years focused on data management and data governance
- Strong understanding of data architectures, technologies, and modern data stack components.
- Experience in defining and operating data quality, master data management, or data cataloging initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data concepts to business outcomes.
- Experience working in product model and utilizing agile delivery to foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Experience managing a team of resources (4+) with responsibility for performance reviews and competency development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Commitment to continued professional growth evidenced through certifications and/or whitepaper authoring is preferred.
- Desire for a high level of responsibility and ownership and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects; detail oriented and organized

Base Pay Range: $135,000 - $243,600Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
