T-Mobile is seeking a strategic and analytically exceptional leader to guide the annual and quarterly portfolio strategy for connected devices across smartphones, wearables, and IoT products. As the Sr. Manager of Device Portfolio Strategy & Analysis, you will architect and execute our cross-segment product roadmap—translating data, ensure optimal slot planning, understand market insights, and business strategy to drive device selection, slot planning, and vendor alignment.This is a high-impact role that sits at the intersection of product strategy, finance, sourcing, marketing, and executive leadership. You'll not only leverage data to make rigorous recommendations but also craft compelling narratives that help senior leaders navigate complex trade-offs across innovation, cost, and customer value
Responsibilities:
Annual & Quarterly Portfolio Strategy
- Lead quarterly portfolio slotting and device mix planning across postpaid, prepaid, and emerging channels.
- Translate market trends, OEM capabilities, sales trends and customer data into a unified portfolio strategy across form factors and price tiers.
- Create category strategies by device class (e.g., wearables, trackers, 5G Chromebooks), including segmentation, launch timing, and investment rationale.
- Build data-driven slot frameworks to balance innovation, affordability, and operational readiness.
Slot Planning & Optimization
- Utilize published dashboards and forecasting models to monitor device performance, attach rates, churn impact, and gross margin; ultimately shaping the portfolio strategy.
- Quantify slot-level business cases (e.g., launching AI-powered wearables vs. tracker SKUs with satellite fallback).
- Apply scenario-based planning to assess trade-offs between competing OEM proposals.
Cross-Functional Influence & RFP Strategy
- Partner with Sourcing, Finance, LOBs, Product, and Commercial teams to align on device selections and sourcing outcomes.
- Provide strategic input and scorecard frameworks for RFP evaluations across multiple categories.
- Analyze device-level forecasts and past performance to guide shortlisting and negotiation strategy.
- Align vendors to key priorities such as new technology readiness (e.g. RedCap), smart platform integration, and TCO targets.
Executive Storytelling & Decision Support
- Deliver strategic documents for senior executives, synthesizing technical, commercial, and financial insights with high-impact presentations that explain not just what the data says—but why it matters.
- Create executive briefing materials, heatmaps, and trade-off frameworks to support shortlisting, launch sequencing, and slot rationalization.
- Guide C-level and SVP audiences through high-stakes decision-making using a mix of narrative, analytics, and visuals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, or Engineering (MBA or advanced analytics degree strongly preferred)
- 7–10 years of experience in device portfolio strategy, portfolio planning, product analytics, business analytics, or category planning—preferably in telecom, consumer electronics, or tech
- Track record of crafting high-impact strategies across multiple hardware categories
- Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel; Python/R a plus
- Fluency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and ROI frameworks
- Deep understanding of device sourcing dynamics, platform certification timelines, and rate plan interactions
- Exceptional executive communication skills—able to distill complexity into clarity
- Proven ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and influence senior leadership

Base Pay Range: $121,600 - $219,400Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
