
Sr. Product Manager, Portfolio Analysis & Insights

T-Mobile is seeking a highly analytical and strategic leader Manager to join the Strategic Incubation & Growth Planning team. This individual will drive and deliver high-impact insights across our device portfolios, lead deep-dive analytics supporting collaboration with our device suppliers, and enable strategic decision-making through rigorous modeling and scenario planning.The ideal candidate will be a dynamic problem-solver and thought leader who thrives at the intersection of data, product strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.
This is a vital role in shaping our long-term device portfolio direction, informing supplier negotiations, and supporting emerging product innovation through managing the construction and operation of strategic, analytical frameworks and financial models to guide crucial business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio & Performance Analytics
- Lead deep performance analysis for T-Mobile’s device portfolio supporting all Lines of Business and taking into consideration the portfolio interactions with rate plan and device promotion dynamics.
- Partner with portfolio strategy & sourcing teams and key business partners to support near term and long-term portfolio analysis directly feeding into slot planning
- Deliver quarterly and ad hoc portfolio analysis highlighting key performance indicators, trends, actionable insights and impacts to long range forecasting plans.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis of device categories and segments to identify new opportunities or mitigate risks.
Joint Business Planning & Supplier Engagement
- Framework complex business dynamics to establish financial and operational guardrails for key suppliers
- Partner with our Supplier Management teams to drive OEM joint business planning with deep dive analytics, including sales and share analysis, base and upgrade trends and investment trends
- Support supplier negotiations and strategic planning sessions with robust analytical packages including insightful and actionable recommendations
Scenario Modeling & Strategic Decision Support
- Develop and maintain trade-off frameworks, sensitivity analyses, and scenario models to guide investment decisions and go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborate across Product Portfolio & Supplier Management and Finance teams to evaluate opportunity costs, margin impacts, and operational trade-offs.
Emerging Product Support
- Lead robust, early-stage total addressable market (TAM) estimates and opportunity assessments for new and emerging categories
- Provide quantitative support for business case development and supplier partnership exploration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to Product, Marketing, and Supply Chain leaders, influencing key decisions with data-driven recommendations.
- Support the annual planning process and business case development for new products, initiatives, and revenue streams.
Executive Storytelling & Decision Support
- Deliver strategic documents for senior executives, synthesizing financial and commercial insights with high-impact presentations that explain not just what the data says—but why it matters.
- Create executive briefing materials and analytical frameworks to support portfolio strategy & decisions, emerging opportunities and supplier engagements.
- Guide C-level and SVP audiences through high-stakes decision-making using a mix of narrative, analytics, and visuals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Analytics, Engineering or related quantitative discipline required (MBA or advanced analytics degree strongly preferred)
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in building analytical frameworks and financial models, device portfolio strategy, portfolio planning, product analytics, business analytics, or category planning—ideally within the technology, telecom, consumer electronics or consumer electronics sectors
- Track record of supporting high-impact strategies across multiple hardware categories
- Advanced Excel and SQL skills required; familiarity with Python, R, or Alteryx is a plus.
- Comfortable extracting and manipulating large datasets
- Deep experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for data visualization and storytelling.
- Fluency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and ROI frameworks
- Strong financial modeling capabilities and experience developing TAM/forecasting models.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and influence senior leadership
- Excellence in executive communication and presentation of complex business problems, solutions, financial/operational model, analysis results and insightful recommendations
- Flexible, self-starter, and comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment
- Desire for a high level of responsibility and ownership and ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team-oriented, highly collaborative environment

Base Pay Range: $121,600 - $219,400Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
