Sr Specialist, Benefits

Job Overview
This role supports the operation and administration of T-Mobile benefits offerings, including programs coordinated both internally and by third-party vendors. Acts as a day-to-day liaison for employees, internal business partners, HR partners, and vendor representatives to resolve employee inquiries that cannot be resolved through normal vendor processes. Role involves decision-making and application of rules and laws, both alone and in partnership with senior members of the Benefits team. Coordinates policy and claims process of several internally led benefit programs by making determination of eligibility and then processing requests. Responsible for auditing and balancing inbound vendor data and payroll files to ensure accuracy. Supports invoicing and funding processes for vendors and programs. Provides as-needed support for Benefits team, including managing employee escalations, assisting with program communications, launches, and more.


The role partners daily with senior members of the Benefits team who provide oversight and direction on various benefit programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Customer service to employees, HR partners, business partners, and vendor contacts. Responds to employee inquiries, issues and appeals.
  • Supports benefit administration activities both internally and in partnership with third-party vendor.
  • .Interprets and applies laws and internal policies to coordinate benefit plans
  • Data reconciliation, testing, auditing, analysis and reporting. Includes year-end and quarter-end activities.
  • Backs up Invoicing/funding reconciliation and preparation.
  • Employee education, communication and liaison activities.
  • Crafts both intra- and inter-team processes and procedures to optimally partner across HR
  • Supports Workday HR and Payroll initiatives impacting benefits.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree HR, Business, Finance or related field (Preferred)




 

Work Experience:

  • 2-4 years Benefits experience (Required)




 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills with an emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service (Required)
  • Ability to be flexible and operate in the grey area, including developing alternative solutions to meet the needs of the employee within a compliance framework (Required)
  • Dedicated with ability to prioritize and prioritise opposing priorities within a fast-paced environment (Required)
  • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills (Required)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of ERISA benefit plans and IRS regulations for pre-tax benefit plans (Required)
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills (Required)


 

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) (Preferred)

• At least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Base Pay Range: $56,500 - $101,800

Corporate Bonus Target: 10%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
