Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Machine Learning Engineer Intern to join our team. In this role, you will work on advanced machine learning and AI projects, driving initiatives that enhance our product capabilities and align with our business strategy. You’ll apply your expertise to solve real-world problems, working on impactful projects that improve our automation, decision-making, and data insights.

What It’s Like:

You will be joining a geographically diverse team with members located across the East Coast, West Coast (Bellevue), and Frisco, Texas. Our team is composed of a talented group of data scientists, machine learning engineers, full-stack developers, and SREs, each bringing their expertise to drive our AI/ML initiatives forward. Collaboration across time zones is key to our success, and you’ll have the chance to work closely with professionals from various technical backgrounds, contributing to impactful projects that enhance our organization’s product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the AI/ML team to research, develop, and optimize machine learning models, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of our products.

  • Support data preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and deployment, contributing to projects that streamline operations and improve customer solutions.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data engineers, and software developers, to deliver AI-driven solutions addressing customer needs.

  • Analyze large datasets to provide actionable insights that shape business strategies and future AI/ML developments.

  • Stay updated with the latest research in machine learning, deep learning, and AI technologies, contributing new ideas and methodologies to maintain our competitive edge.

What It Takes:

To be a successful AI/ML intern, you should have a strong foundation in machine learning concepts, programming, and data analysis, with a passion for problem-solving. You’ll need to be proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment. Collaboration and communication are key, as you’ll be working with a diverse, geographically distributed team. A willingness to dive into complex challenges, stay current with emerging technologies, and contribute creative solutions will help you excel in this role.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.

  • Excellent analytical skills and an interest in working with large datasets to solve complex problems.

  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • Must have graduated within the last 12-months, OR  be actively enrolled in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program

  • Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internships

Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.

Relocation assistance may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.

Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on experience/location.
