This is an 11-week paid learning experience during which you’ll be able to connect and network with other interns and leaders within the company. We invite you to come innovate with mentors who will challenge you to develop meaningful skills. You’ll contribute your creativity and outstanding ideas, while working alongside T-Mobile employees. We’ll give you hands-on projects and the chance to create an immediate impact. The intern will assist with research, analysis, documentation, and cross-team coordination efforts while learning how large-scale telecom systems are designed and operated. This role emphasizes learning, mentorship, and the practical application of engineering concepts.

What It's Like

Our team supports T-Mobile’s network evolution by analyzing how emerging technologies and architectural decisions impact network performance, reliability, and scalability. This internship provides hands-on exposure to real-world network and system design challenges within a collaborative engineering environment.

The intern will assist with research, analysis, documentation, and cross-team coordination efforts while learning how large-scale telecom systems are designed and operated. This role emphasizes learning, mentorship, and the practical application of engineering concepts.

 

What You'll Do

The intern will support ongoing initiatives focused on evaluating how emerging technologies and architectural changes impact network performance, resiliency, and scalability. They will assist with data analysis, documentation, and technical research to help inform design decisions and operational improvements.

The intern will collaborate with engineers and architects across teams to understand end-to-end system workflows and dependencies. Their work will contribute to improving visibility into network behavior and support data-driven recommendations for future enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support analysis of network and system performance by gathering data, conducting basic evaluations, and summarizing findings.
  • Assist with technical research and documentation related to emerging technologies, architecture considerations, and system dependencies.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects across teams to understand workflows, requirements, and design trade-offs.
  • Participate in team meetings, design discussions, and reviews, providing updates on assigned tasks and learnings.
  • Apply feedback from mentors to iteratively improve deliverables and technical understanding.

 

What It Takes

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in telecommunications, network architecture, or large-scale distributed systems.
  • Ability to analyze problems, organize information, and communicate findings clearly in both written and verbal formats.
  • Experience with coursework, projects, labs, or internships involving systems, networking, or software concepts is a plus.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program
  • Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internships

Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.

Relocation assistance may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.

Intern wages range from $26/hour to $47/hour. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on education/STEM vs non-STEM designation.
