What It's Like:
My team sits at the center of T-Mobile’s Data Engineering organization, building the trusted data products, lakehouse architecture, and enterprise reporting foundations that power AI-driven decision-making across the company. We modernize core platforms, streamline ingestion and governance through Unity Catalog and medallion architecture, and deliver real-time, high-quality data that supports Consumer, FP&A, Finance, Network, TFB, and digital experiences. Our work enables a single, business-validated view of customers and operations—reducing complexity, improving cost efficiency, and accelerating transformation initiatives across the enterprise. We also drive data culture and literacy, equipping teams with the tools, training, and insights needed to work smarter, faster, and more collaboratively.
What You'll Do:
An intern on our team would support the development and delivery of enterprise data products by helping design and validate data pipelines, document metadata, and improve data quality across our lakehouse architecture. They would contribute to real business outcomes by assisting with ingestion workflows, dashboard testing, lineage mapping, and analytics used by multiple business partners. The intern would also help advance our data culture by preparing training materials, building simple visualizations, and analyzing adoption trends to make insights more accessible across teams. Their analytical curiosity and fresh perspective would strengthen our modernization efforts and accelerate delivery of reliable, high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with building and validating data pipelines in the lakehouse environment.
Support ingestion standardization by reviewing schemas, quality rules, and pipeline outputs.
Perform data profiling to identify anomalies, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
Help evaluate AI/ML model outputs or monitoring dashboards (as applicable).
Summarize lessons learned, best practices, and enablement content for broader team use.
What It Takes:
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900)
Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals
Foundational knowledge of data engineering concepts, including SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud platforms.
Experience with Python for data manipulation, scripting, or basic automation.
Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems such as Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS.

Relocation may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.
Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on experience/location.
