Job OverviewT-Could is T-Mobile’s internal cloud Platform that will centralize the environment for hosting, managing and operating enterprise applications and services. It's T-Mobile's Private cloud optimized for secure, compliant and resilient application hosting.
The System Reliability Engineer (SRE) improves and protects the software and systems behind all of T-Mobile's IT services, including management of scalability, availability, latency, performance, security, and capacity, and delivery of software faster, better, and cheaper. From designing & maintaining CICD Pipelines to building the next generation of T-Mobile applications on cloud native platforms, the SRE's enable great customer experience and product innovation by continuous improvement of operational support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure and tools to improve reliability and performance.
- Monitor system health, set up alerts, and ensure service-level objectives (SLOs) are met.
- Respond to and troubleshoot production incidents, performing root cause analysis and postmortems.
- Automate manual processes and reduce toil using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Collaborate with developers and engineers to design fault-tolerant systems and improve deployment processes.
- Improve observability (logging, monitoring, metrics) across applications and infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Hashi Vault, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficient in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, Ansible).
- Familiar with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting tools (e.g., GitLab, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with HSMs and hardware-based key storage.
- Excellent problem-solving and incident management skills.
- Experience with SIEM tools (ADX (Vector), Splunk, QRadar, etc.)
- Understanding of networking concepts (firewalls, ports, DNS, SDN, FQDN)
Nice to Have:
- Background in DevOps, site reliability engineering, or systems administration.
- Exposure to ITIL, SRE principles, or other operational best practices.
- Familiarity with Private Clouds, Exposure to Kubernetes, Ansible, terraform, Gitlab
Knowledge of security best practices in cloud and automation tools.

- Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years Proven experience.

Base Pay Range: $83,900 - $151,200Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
